Open channels and lip channels were Tubecon's first steps into the field of cold rolled open profiles. Commonly used in steel construction, steel lip channels offers a versatile, yet very cost effective alternative which neatly compliments the wide range of tubing solutions that Tubecon has been manufacturing and supplying for years.

Tubecon has the capacity to manufacture a variety of cold-formed steel open sections and lip channels catering for a wide spectrum of industries in South Africa. Being able to roll these open channels from a variety of materials, including pre-galvanized Z275 and Z450 materials as well as 3CR12 stainless steel, we provide our customers with a solution for the majority of their steel and structural problems. Being a latecomer to the open channel market, brings the advantage of the latest production technology and highest quality manufacturing processes available. Computer-controlled equipment enables Tubecon to cold roll almost any steel U-channel, lip channel or open profile to the custom requirements of our customers. Rolling to size and within the customers tolerance preference, along with the capacity of in-line hole punching on lip channels and open sections adds great value to our product. Furthermore, we pin mark open sections according to the drawing numbers provided; enabling our customers to immediately identify the different open and/or lip channels when received.

Within the range displayed in the sketch, any desired size is possible. Again, large volumes are no prerequisite to obtain a custom product.

True to our policy, fast delivery times and special lengths apply as much to this product as they do to our steel tubing.

Lipped Angles

Lipped Purlins

Lipped angles is a common profile used in the construction industry in South Africa.

Lipped angles are also known in the market as lipped purlins. Similar to lip channels, Tubecon cold forms these steel sections, tailor-made for our customer's requirements. Tubecon can form various lipped angles from materials including SAE1008, S355, Z275 and various others.

These profiles can be punched inline according to our customer's specification, also rolling them to size.

With branches in Cape Town and Pretoria, and regular trucks to Nelspruit, Bloemfontein and Klerksdorp the finished steel sections can be delivered all over South Africa.
