Sister Companies

Tubecon Africa, a steel tube and profile manufacturer, is one of five companies forming the Tollenaar Group. The group which is spread over four different locations consists of three specialities, namely:

1. Supply of sheet metal and construction;
2. Production of tubes and profiles;
3. Engineering.

The group was established in 1977 when Tubecon Africa(PTY)LTD based in Pretoria, South Africa started production of sockets, bends, clamps and various related products. The manufacturing of steel tubes and hollow sections by conversion on draw benches followed shortly after. as the company grew throughout the years they started manufacturing the welded steel tubes from strip on ERW tube mills. Tubecon is still the leading steel tube and profile manufacturer by acting as a manufacturer and stockholder to ensure short lead-times by keeping high levels of stock.

In 2000 the second company was added to the Tollenaar Group when a metal company, based in Zwolle, Netherlands was bought from the Hullen family and changed to Tosec. Tosec, with over 16 sheet operations including welding, laser cutting, setting and milling, specializes in sheet metal working.

The Tollenaar Group grew once more in 2007 when Rime was bought and a further investment was made in a machining department. The Germany based company specializes in sheet metal components. Rime already had more than 20 years' experience when it was bought and only grew from there on. Milling, punching, profile cutting and welding was added to already existing operations while a 16m press brake and 16m 3D laser cutter was added in addition to the 6m laser cutters and 8m press brakes.

A fourth company was established in 2012. TME, also Netherlands based, specializes in engineering and machine building. Various industries are supplied by TME's designed and custom build machinery, equipment and turnkey plants. The company, like all companies in the Tollenaar Group, believe in continuous growth with the extended knowledge of engineers in the asphalt, bulk and concrete industries.

The fifth and most recent company was established in 2013 in Pretoria, South Africa on the same premises as Tubecon. Tubecon Laser specializes in sheet metal components, supplying customers throughout Southern Africa. With the experience of Tubecon Africa, Tubecon Laser quickly became one of the best and fastest laser cutting companies. Various steel grades with thickness ranging from 0.9 up to 22mm can be laser cut with ease on their 6 x 2 meter cutting bed. Speed, quality and reliability is quickly becoming the core of our existing and new customer relationships.
