Started in 1977, Tubecon Africa has quickly become one of the leading manufacturers of cold formed steel and high strength steel products in South Africa. With our steel manufacturing facility in Pretoria, Gauteng and a branch in Cape Town, Tubecon is a leading supplier of cold formed steel sections (both in hot rolled and cold rolled material), lip channels and open profiles, conduit (black and lightweight) and lancing tube with short lead times throughout South Africa (SA) and neighbouring countries such as Namibia, Botswana, and Mozambique.

Having started out by manufacturing and supplying round, square and rectangular steel tubes for the South African (SA) market, Tubecon has expanded by adding punched and rolled to size lip channels and custom open profiles to our steel product offering and in recent years adding to our value added services to include tube profile cutting, mitre cutting and cut to lengths services of all welded steel hollow sections well as sheet metal working through Tubecon Laser.

Our steel tube offering consist of the following:

Structural steel tubes:

Round, Square and Rectangular Steel Tubes rolled from commercial grade mild steel, high tensile mild steel, high strength steel.

Application Specific Tubes:

These include steel conduit, oxygen or thermal lancing tubes, conveyor tubes, Borehole Casing Tubes, Air Heater Tubes and Water Pipes.

Profile Tubes:

Cold formed hollow sections such as D-sections tubes, Flat and Elliptical Oval Tubes, and Domes Tubes. Though these are considered to be more standard, Tubecon also specializes in the non-standards.

Steel Conduit:

Tubecon manufactures black and galvanized lightweight conduit as well as screwed and socketed steel conduit.

Our open profile offering consists of:

Lip and Open Channels:

These can be rolled to size and punched inline from mild steel, high strength steel and pre-galvanized steel.

Customized Open Profile:

These steel sections are not welded and customers are able to design sections such as steel top hats, thick cold formed channels, top and side rails for trailers and many more. We understand how important customized steel manufacturing is to our customers.

Our value adding services include the following:

Tubelaser cutting:

We specialize in custom tube profiling as well as doing mitre and fishmouth cuts. We use a fibre laser that ensures a more precise cut.

Sheet Metal Working:

Plate profiling through fibre laser cutting as well as bending break operations

Cut to size services:

We are able to cut to a customer's specific size reducing offcuts for customers

Kitting:

We provide kitting to improve our customers' assembly process.

Flaring Swaging and Threading:

In addition we also offer customers numerous options for swaging to almost any size. We are able do tube flaring, as well as threading the steel tube. We as Tubecon thrive to be a one stop supplier for all your steel tube and pipe alterations.

Tubecon focus on providing exceptional service throughout the buying process, from quoting to delivery, as well as after sales service. Tubecon fulfils both the role of a steel manufacturer and merchant, supplying stocked steel tubes and lip channels in Gauteng (GP) one day after purchase. Having our own fleet of trucks enables us to supply steel tubes and lip channels to areas such as Durban, Pinetown, Bloemfontein, Rustenburg, Port Elizabeth and our branch in Cape Town more than once a week.

Tubecon believes in continuous improvement and has recently added the manufacturing of round, square and rectangular tubes, lip channels as well as closed and open profiles from 3CR12 material to our production line. These cold formed steel tubes and profiles are supplied to various industries throughout the South African market.
